Matthew Cromar brings over 15 years of engineering, product development and management experience to Wi-Fi Rail. He has led a variety of complex technology integration projects across several industries including pharmaceuticals, healthcare, manufacturing, and high tech. He has held positions in product management, engineering, strategy, and sales.

Mr. Cromar helped pioneer the world’s largest open, web based, business transaction system with Ariba, Inc. While at Ariba, Mr. Cromar led product development and engineering teams, which defined open b2b xml interoperability standards, and served as a key member of several alliance and acquisition teams. As Director of Solution Strategy, he bridged the gap between Ariba’s internal product planning groups and external customers, partners, and industry groups. At Grand Central Communications, he built a professional services and pre-sales engineering organization to promote and deliver a unique integration solution based on web services.

His management consulting experience at Ernst & Young LLP included work with a variety of clients including Transmeta Corporation, HealthNet, Johnson & Johnson, and Farmland Industries. During college, he spent his summers providing business process and project development work with Merck, Inc., Levi Strauss and Co., and McNeil Consumer Products.

Mr. Cromar holds a degree in Industrial Engineering from Lehigh University and a Certificate in Construction Management from The University of California at Berkeley.

An avid sailor, Mr. Cromar founded and directs a non-profit group that provides financial support for youth sailing. He serves on the board of directors for The Marin School, a private high school located in Sausalito, California.
