If your laptop or PDA is not automatically configured to detect WiFi, you will need to manually configure your settings.

Follow the three simple steps below, which are designed for a Windows environment. Mac OSX users should automatically connect.

1. Configure Your Browser

a. Open browser and select the 'Tools' menu.
b. Select 'Internet Options' and the tab 'Connections'.
c. Under 'Lan Settings' open 'Local Area Network (LAN) settings'.
d. Confirm the following settings:
- Select 'Automatically detect settings'
- Deselect 'Use automatic configuration script'.
- Deselect 'Use a proxy server for your LAN'.

2. Confirm Your SSID Settings:

a. Click on 'Start'.
b. Go to 'Settings'.
c. Choose 'Network Connections'.
d. Highlight and right-click on your 'Wireless Network Connection'. Choose 'Properties' from the menu.
e. Highlight 'Wireless Networks'.
f. Highlight 'wifi_rail' in the available networks window and click 'Configure'. Confirm that the data encryption (WEP enabled) option is disabled, as this is a public service.
g. Click 'OK' and then click on the 'Advanced' button. Confirm that 'Access point (infrastructure networks only' is selected. Then close the window.

3. Obtain and IP Address

a. Click 'Start'.
b. Go to 'Settings'.
c. Choose 'Network Connections'.
d. Highlight and right-click on your 'Wireless Network Connection'. Choose 'Properties' from the menu.
e. Scroll down and highlight 'International Protocol TCP/IP' option and click on 'Properties'.
f. Select 'Obtain an IP automatically' and 'Obtain DNS server address automatically' and click 'OK' to confirm. If prompted, click 'OK' to confirm.
After you have completed the configuration settings above, you may need to reboot your computer.
